Why don't we treat our actors/actresses/sports figures like we do the mailman?

I don't care who my mailman sleeps with or how his home life is. I don't care whether he does drugs or stays out late or not. As long as he does his job, I don't care what he does in his private life. Where did this obsession with certain people start?

1. idk bout you, but i treat my mail man like a celeb... i follow him arounf and ask him about his life because thats me lol
