Did your parents both have full time jobs?
I know not everyone grows up with parents but I am asking cause I am curious as to who people are effected or is it affected by their parents work life. I was wondering if a person's mother stayed home how they reacted. For example does that make people think they shouldn't have to work & they should be supported by someone else or that they want to get out & work. So I am curious as to how the adults in your life handled work & how you look at it. Of course, this might depend on your age so if you want to give that or an approx. age...OK, my parents both worked full time jobs, mailman & secretary. I can not be trapped in a full time job & my brother is the same way. I am 50 so it was unusual when I was a kid to have a mother that worked outside the home. ...thank you all!

- i didnt read all of that. but yes they do (=
- My mom does, my dad has cancer so he's on short term disability
- No. Traditional division of labor. My father went to work and my mother took care of the kids.
- Yep. (Father gets paid full time, but only works about 3-4 hours daily, and mom works at least 12 hours daily. For what? I don't know because the bills aren't even expensive, and I'm the last kid {18} so it's not like they're spending hella money. They just buy what they want when ready i guess) Will I work a full time job? Yep. Gotta finish college too, so that's gonna be tough.
- My parents both have full time jobs, I have a job as well.
- Well let's see, my mothers dead, my father has so many ailments he may as well be dead so I'm going to let you figure that one out
- Yes both my parents worked, it was the norm in my neighborhood and we didn't have a problem with it. Everybody looked out for everybody else. When my children were growing up both my husband and I worked, had to to live the life style that we wanted.
- yes they do
- My mother was an RN, she worked every other weekend at the local hospital when I was a child. this way there was always one parent at home and we still had some weekends to do family activities. Once all us kids were old enough to look afterselves and each other..meaning I the oldest was in high school, my mother took a full time job as the school nurse in the local elementary school. As a parents my wife wanted to be a stay at home full time mom. so we adjusted our lifestyle to accommodate economic reality. she then went back to work when our son reached highschool. she has since retired and I continue to work. while she manages our household and helps a bit with some of the paperwork for my business. It is all about partnership. seems like that is what I said I would do in my marriage vows. It works pretty neat..it is not always peaches and cream, but so what.
- Yes, both my parents worked, so it was like being an orphan.
- Yes, mom worked part time and dad headed his own firm. He retired at 60 and they've been golfing ever since. Sweet life and they lament that their kids won't have it as good as they do.. (Not the case though.) They taught us a lot and we will pass it on as well.; They respect that our ideologies differ. They regret the turn that their Republican party has taken and we enjoy spirted debates.
- yes, both my mom and dad have full time jobs.
