Postal Letter

what happens if i dont pick up my package from the postal office because i was in vacation after 7 days?

i was in vacation for around 9 days and i received a letter from my post office saying that they tried delivering my package but i wasn't here. that i haven't o pick it up. it also says there not responsible for the delivery after 7 days? help?

1. They only hold onto mail for so long. Eventually, they return it to the sender.
2. The post Office will hold your package for 15 days starting from the day of the first notice. You should receive a second notice to pick it up after 5 days. If unclaimed after 15 days, it will be returned to the sender.
