Postal Letter

How do I track an envelope that I sent by leaving it in my mailbox for the mailman to deliver?

Ok, so about 2 weeks ago I mailed an envelope to my boyfriend who lives 3,000 miles away. He hasn't gotten it yet, but I received the package he sent me in just a few days. I was wondering how I could track my envelope, because I didn't actually mail it at the post office. I just left it in my mailbox for the mailman to pick up. Can I track it still???

  1. I don't think so, you may just have to wait for it to show up somewhere. I once mailed a check to an employee 20 miles away and it ended up in New York, (we are in Iowa), needless to say, it took a few weeks before he got it.
  2. You can't. Even if you had mailed it at the post office you couldn't unless you used one of the forms that allow tracking.
