What is the Most Secure Free Email?

I'm looking to become more anonymous online. I've learned about encrypting emails but can't find to much about a general safer email client or web based email. Can anyone point me into the right direction?

  1. I believe Gmail is the most secure, I think they also encrypt every message now. Good Luck!
  2. GMail. http://gmail.com
  3. Ok, Don't listen to the GMail guy, he is a moron. There are several things you will have to consider when you are thinking about email encryption. The major problem you are going to have is that the receiving end will also have to have the same Encryption standards you do. The most commonly accepted Email Encryption is PGP. This was created by the PGP corporation ( http://www.pgp.com/ ) PGP Encryption is impossible to break by today's standards unless you have a very weak password or tell someone the password. If you want to use PGP with your existing email there are several add on's to FireFox or other browsers to do this. I use FireGPG ( http://getfiregpg.org/s/home ) This allows me to Encrypt mail inside of Gmail or other mail providers. Another thing you may want to consider is using a mail provider that is based on around security. The major player in this market is HushMail. ( http://hushmail.com ) with them you can encrypt your mail with out downloading any software completely in the website. Hopefully this helps answer some of your questions.
