Where is a cheap place to live with decent employment opportunities for a traveler in Ontario?

Im going to Ontario next week from Australia and think Toronto may be to much for me, what are the other cities like? (London, Hamilton, Windsor)

1. Why must you go to Ontario. You should be living near the Ocean - either Nova Scotia or British Columbia.
2. The cheapest place to live with decent job opportunities would be Ottawa
