Will they charge my customer extra since I reinforced a USPS flat rate envelope with packaging tape?
Will they charge the person that bought my package extra? USPS told me that they would probably not charge them extra and to not do it again. But I do not want to get the negative feedback. Help! I don't know what to do.

- no
- As long as you did not enlarge the envelope by opening seams and then taping, you should not have any problem at all.
- There isn't any regulation prohibiting tape from a flat rate envelope. But, time and time again USPS employees fabricate bogus regulations to effectively slam the door in the customer's face. Most of the envelopes with tape on them are heavy and the USPS employee knows you are saving money over the measured priority rate. Morale is very low at USPS and many of the employees have nothing but contempt for the customer, and would get great pleasure out of marking up your package as postage due. If you package is marked postage due, file complaints at the USPS web site and the postal inspection service web site. Demand a written apology be issued to both yourself and the buyer along with a refund and that a letter of removal be issued to the creature who marked your package postage due.
