Postal Letter

Do I have to fill out a delivery confirmation slip USPS or can I leave it blank, it's just for my reference?

I have many post office employees just take the slip without me putting the persons info on it, after all they just hand it back to me. The other day the post off lady told me the DC slips must be filled out, it makes no sense, it's for my personal use and they only use the peel off number part.

  1. Either the policy has changed or someone is finally doing their job.
  2. We had a nasty little woman at our local post office who would make me fill those out when I was sending things to my sons at college. It was so stupid; all I wanted was the tracking number. I didn't need the address info or who I'd sent it to--I already knew that. But she insisted. Some clerks don't bother.
