Jobs in postal office?

i heard there is a job that pays like $30 for categorizing what countries mail will go to in the back. anyone know what this job is called? or the age to work in it? thanks

  1. Why on earth would you want to work at the Postal Office? You might as well apply at the DMV while you're at it.
  2. You must be at least 18 to work for the USPS. You have to take an exam and score at least 70 (but the higher you score, the better chance you have to be hired). There are different craft categories of postal workers--clerks, letter carriers, mail handlers, custodians, maintenance mechanics, electronic technicians, etc. But, there are no craft employees that make $30 and there are no jobs like the one you are describing. Most of the mail is sorted by machines at a processing plant. And the people that operate those machines make no more than $25 an hour--less than that if they're just starting out. But, currently, the USPS is not hiring.
  3. Someone is pulling your leg. The one thing that is absolutely true, is that the post office is not hiring anytime soon. I have been there for longer than I care to admit, and no craft employees make that kind of money.
