What order should I install winXP updates and virus protection?

I am going to format my HDD and reinstall a clean version of winXP. In what order should I install Microsoft updates, virus protection, and drivers? Should I run MS auto updates before I install my virus protection or driver updates or should I protect from viruses first? What about drivers like ATI and Soundblaster?

  1. drivers first, security secondly then your updates. gl,youll need your drivers which will automatically be installed form the disc before you can even get to the internet, drivers are what your pc needs to communicate with different parts of pc for those parts to work.

  3. Windows updates and drivers, then third party software drivers and security programs basically do all the Windows stuff first, then third party software... you have the best chance of installing all your Windows updates successfully if all you have on your computer is Windows.
