Postal Letter

What do u think about the post office being closed Saturdays and no delivery?

Their budget is in the red but I think congress should change things to make them more profitable. It makes no sense and I would love it if they had a postal bank or started selling lattes or whatever. They could actually make it cool to wait at the post office. These laws were made in 1970?40 years ago! We need to get some new blood in Washington- entrepreneurs that make money! What do you think?

  1. so, close on Saturday. So what?
  2. I don't really care. I could live without getting mail on Saturdays. But, changes could be made to make the post office more profitable and cut expenses. For one thing - they could print only 4-5 kinds of stamps. They print fancy books of stamps with glossy covers and full stories and sell them for the regular price. There is no way they make any money doing this, and I suspect they sell these at a loss. We don't need collectable stamps - we just need stamps to mail letters and packages. That is just one little thing, but I bet it could save millions. Do we really need Daffy Duck stamps?
  3. As long as they are not sending me money anyway, I don't wat to get bills in the mail on Saturday.
  4. its the government, they messed up the postal service, they need to cut hours, to cut pay and benefits. in the end that's whats killing them, and they need to put a freeze on hiring new people and raise the standards. i don't care about saturday mail, right now my mail delivery is good, before i had people come and go who didn't seem to care about there work and i got other peoples mail and vis versa. these things happen when you have people in jobs where its almost impossible to get fired from. then they evenutaly run the place, they need to get rid of the slackers and trim the fat and they will see an immediate increase in profits.
  5. It won't happen- they might reduce the # of hours on Sat. in some areas but even Obama doesn't want them closed. Already they deal w/ Sun. closures which just increases Mon. man-hours, they would need to increase their workforce if they were to have 2 days in a row they're closed.
