I am in the national guard and I was wondering if there were further part time employment opportunities?
Ok, so I just finished my training and right now there are not too many jobs near where I live. Does the National Guard have part time employment opportunities for its enlisted members? (I am ALREADY enlisted, im not talking about drill weekend i mean like during the week when you are not deployed). Thanks!

- It just depends. SOmetimes there's extra work or training opportunities or you can volunteer for schools. You need to talk to your unit full timers.
- If your friends with the unit commander they can hook you up with BS detail jobs like answer the phones, move some stuff around etc during the week but that really depends on whats going at that time.
- depends on whats around. im working at my units armory, and my CPT is working around my school schedule. i don't go to work until about 12 everyday and then stay til i feel like i did something for the day.
- yeah you can become a reserve technician, go to govjobs or federaljobs (* i forget which government site name it is *) and you can search for military / civilian jobs in your area, most include experience requirements such as you have to be a servicemember, you gotta wear your uniform to work, etc, etc. The pay is generally pretty good for those jobs. If anything, talk to your UA or CO and request more hours if possible, you could be tasked doing something around your unit.
