Taking a Job at fedex. How long should I wait to request out of state transfer?

I'm taking a part time job with Fedex. I would like to transfer out of state within the next 6 months. How soon is too soon to ask for a transfer? Do you think they would give me grief if I wanted a full time position after I transferred?
