Postal Letter

if the postal service wants to be profitable,Reduce holidays to civilian employment holidays?

By cutting back on holidays ,they cut out the double time and number employees needed plus they need to look at why it takes longer to deliver mail within a state then it does to mail across country. that's why they lose out to private carriers

  1. Good idea. My husband never got more than 6 holidays in his working life. Also they shouldn't pay so much. A post office worker starts at $39,520. Does this sound like an entry-level job to you? And they should teach their employees how to be civil to customers. Every time I mail a package, the clerk thinks up a new rule: I used a Post Office mailling label with "Priority" cut off, so it only said To and From. The clerk said, if you use the PO label, you MUST send by Priority mail even if it qualifies for other rates. ???? Another said, You have to glue your label on before putting Scotch tape over it. Every time, there's a new rule. Get with the new century, and let's have some customer service! I'm with you about taking a long time to deliver mail. It takes 3 days for a letter from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. I can drive it in 12 hrs. Somehow their service has gone backwards, not forwards. My husband remembers when mail was delivered 2-3 times/day! (I don't.) It's OK with me if they cut out Sat., too, and stop delivering junk mail.
