united states postal service shipping question?

so i sold my iphone on ebay for about $315 and i printed the shipping label online from paypal and it was from USPS and i went to the postal office and gave it to her, she said they can ship it from there and stamped it and i asked her if everything was good? she said yes. but she never scanned the box and it's only been about 30 minutes (they're closed now), but she didn't give me a ticket saying i dropped it off or anything for all i know it's not in the system and she could of just taken it? i called the main office for USPS and they told me to check back later, do you think i lost my phone or will they scan it into the system later on? what are the chances?

1. i think you'll be ok but next time ship it UPS or Fed Ex. they are more reliable and will get a signature when it's delivered
2. The USPS only scans that type of delivery confirmation upon delivery -- if they see it. Personally, I use the hand written green delivery confirmations and pay the .75 cents and watch them scan it in. Then I pay at the USPS and get a printed receipt with the number and destination zip code. Now I have proof of mailing and a delivery confirmation the USPS actually scans and pays attention to. Using Pay Pal shipping is like asking to be ripped off.
