Postal Letter

U.S. postal service Question?

the postal office was closed on Tues. Jan. 1st, 2008, right? so no letter was postmarked on tat day, am I correct?

1. TRUE final answer unless sent by a private postal meter - - which encodes the date as it pays the postage have a great 2008 !
2. I would think no but the way this world is today who knows.
3. yes you ar correct there has to be people there ! but even when there are people there nothing ever gets done
4. I don't know where in the US you are, but here in Dallas our downtown Post Office is open 24hours a day 365 days a year, so they were open 1/1/08.
5. Priority express mail was the only mail being delivered and stamped for that day.
6. All of those people above me are worng.... The acutal post offices are closed, but the blue boxes still get collected (I did that job for a year) and gets postmarked that night.
