Is it cool for a mailperson to use my mail as an umbrella!?
It was raining this one day, and this mail person use my mail as an umbrella! She covered her head with my mail! I dont know about you but, that is not cool! At all and now my mail is as wet as can be! How should I complain to the U.S. Postal Office and who should I complain too?

- call the us postal office and ask to speak to a manager. remember the date that it occurred so they can get the right mailcarrier in trouble because many times different mailcarriers take different routes everyday. that's just wrong!
- I wish I had the time to sit and watch for my mail to come. : ) And the postal workers have a very strong union, so if you feel like it's worth your time to call in and report what you thought you saw her doing, then go for it. You aren't going to get anyone in trouble and you are probably going to upset the person repsonsible for you getting that welfare check every month. I would give her a break because your mail is going to get wet no matter what if it's raining. Edit...maybe she was wiping her brow with her arm so she could see and you thought you saw her using the mail as an umbrella. Be kind, respect those who work hard to deliver you mail, and get over it.
- ok i am a mail person and we are supposed to protect your mail as best we can using plastic bags or whatever. It will get wet sometimes tho and you will just have to suck it up. So yes it was real wrong that she used your mail as umbrella but have a little compassion maybe it had rained on her for five hours straight. sometimes it will rain on me for five hours straight for 6 days in a row and i will cycle around crying. Maybe a few dogs will attack me an and all. and i just got up at 5 in the morning for six days and i am tired and on saturdays all i do is sleep. so i get one day off. if theres extra mail i have to do overtime. let it go this once and assume she was having a bad day
- LOL, I've had that happen. I let it go since thankfully, it was junk mail, anyway, but little vinyl ponchos don't cost all that much, I think they sell for $1.98 at Wal-mart. Maybe call your post office and suggest that maybe they need to provide their carriers with rain protection since they're using your mail.
- Don't complain to anyone but her. It's a little thing that I'm sure she didn't even realize she was doing. Just next time you see her politely say "please do not use my mail to protect yourself from the rain".
- Wait for the hour to roll around that she delivers mail and go out of your house and calmly tell her "If you use my mail as your umbrella one more time, I'm going to kill you. Good day sir/ma`am." And walk away ;D
- That is why they issue rain coats for postal carriers. Send a letter to the office that you receive your mail from. I am not sure of their exact title so just address it to whom it may concern.
