Any U.S. postal workers out there?!?
Does anyone know if it would be sufficient enough to put 2 U.S. postage stamps for a letter traveling from New Jersey, U.S., to Ontario, Canada? Or would it be betterto just take it to the post office? The reason I ask is because I thought too deeply about it. Essentially if I just put two stamps on it, the U.S. is being paid to deliver it on their end, but does the postal service in Canada get paid? If taken to the post office and given an internatonal stamp, does it cover the cost for both countries? Food for thought anyway.

- You can get specific international postage rate calculations at http://www.usps.gov/ The rate for a standard 1-ounce letter to Canada is $0.69. Putting more postage than that on it will work, but you're paying more than you need to. The Post Office has stamps of all sorts of denominations that you might want to get if you're going to be mailing items heavier than normal or to international destinations on a regular basis. It's my understanding that the various postal services in countries have agreements with each other and pay each other for mail being dropped off in each other's countries. If you put the right amount of postage in this end, it should get wherever it's going.
