Postal Letter

U.S. Postal Service Drop Box?

I had to send back a cell phone because I recieved a replacement. I sent it in a small box with the shipping label on it and etc. I had a family member take it to the post office and drop it in the large collection box. I ended up receiving 2 more replacement phones that I had to send back. When I went to the post office I noticed that it said don't put anything in here if it is more than 13 oz. My box is 1lb. 7.5oz. I guess you have to take it up to the person at the counter. My questions....(finally) What happened to my box? Do you think they still sent it? It didn't have stamps on it. Just the prepaid label that the cell phone company sent with it. Thanks in advance!! It was mailed Saturday, September 8th..... but I still haven't gotten it back. But I mailed it at a post office 2 hours away....so maybe I'll get it soon.

  1. The item should have been returned to you. That's a relatively new rule (the 13oz limit). You either have to take it to the counter or put postage on it via the automated postal center machine in the lobby. I would inquire at the post office as to its whereabouts. They may have sent it since you had a prepaid label, but better safe than sorry.
  2. If you mailed it on Saturday, it will probably come back to you this week. The new rule is for security reasons.
