How can I find out the price of my item that I'm shipping through mail before going to the postal office?

I'm thinking of using media mail. Will it be cheaper? Also, the reason I'm shipping this at the post office is because it's huge. How can I find out the price of the shipping, handling, stamps, packaging?

2. The post office has standard boxes if it fits it ships. Go onto the web to find out the sizes and rates.
