Is registered airmail forwarded through the postal service?

I paid for an item from China on 02-22 from ebay.The seller shipped pretty quick using registered air mail and provided a tracking number.I have no doubt it was shipped.The seller states it takes 15-25 days for shipping to the US which has passed. She said she asked the post office and got a message that the originating post is preparing to dispatch your package but that was on the 14th. The status has not changed in 21 days and doesnt appear to have ever been put on a plane to transport.I'm wondering if it is lost.I am in the process of moving and will be out in about a week and was wondering if it does show up if it would be forwarded to my new address. 1. I ordered stuff that was shipped from Hong Kong - took over 2 weeks to get here - I wouldn't expect anything coming from China to get here too quickly - probably lots of red tape - communist country and everything - just because they said said they shipped it from their home/business - doesn't mean they have any control over when it actually leaves the country
