Help with USPS tracking number through Amazon?

Okay so I ordered a couple movies from a seller on amazon a while ago, and just noticed on my email inbox that I have received a "Carrier Tracking ID" from amazon from usps. I tried this in usps' track & confirm feature on their website, and it not only doesn't work but it isn't in the right format as it has no letters. What is a "Carrier Tracking ID" exactly?

1. The US Postal service does not use letters, all the delivery confirmation forms only have numbers. There should be 20 numbers, There could be a possibility that the seller did not enter the tracking number in correctly, see if you are able to contact the seller directly and get the correct number. There should be 5 sets of four numbers. There have been times when the information is not updated right away on the USPS website and sometimes it may take a day or two for the Information to show up.
2. you can check the tracking number on http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm?form=global and not all the package on line at once, you should check it after 1 or 2 days
