Postal Letter

Does this sound like a scam?

I went on Sittercity.com and applied to some babysitting jobs. This is the e-mail I got back from one lady. Her e-mail: Hi and how are you doing today? Thanks for showing interest in taking care of my kids, I am a single parent of 2 twin girls which i guess you know is not easy to be.... because their Dad is late now. Their names are Kelly and Melly the kids are just 5 years old. So that means you are caring for my Girls from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. which would be (5 hours) starting from 28th of June. You have the job, I would say. The other person that mailed me opted out. Your Duties: Taking proper good care of the kids... Cooking for the kids... Taking their baths and cleaning them up after bath... I made some researches, and the compensation for this position should be $600 / week and you are expected to work for about 5 Hours daily. I will start paying you $600 / week for your first week and as time goes on i see how good your service is to my kids and how much they get along with you, I will not hesitate to increase the pay. My company is relocating me and would pay for your first Week Service prior to our Arrival on or before the 27th of May because they want to be sure that you are committed in working with my family and to know you have been book down for us. They will be needing the following information to issue out the first week money for your service prior to my arrival to have you book down : * Name To Be On Check * Mailing Address * City * State / Province * Zip / Postal Code * Phone # An interview/meeting would be set up at the first day of our arrival at your location with my kids. My company want this to be settled before I am been relocated because as soon as I get there, I will have to resume work the next day which means I will have only one day interview/meeting with you. I want to believe you will be giving us the best of service and also training my Kids in the rightful way, you will be treated as part of the family from the minute we arrive. My Girls like playing with Toys and Games and I want to notify you that I have in the mean time arranged with a Toy/Game Agent Store that will be shipping down all their Toys/Games and any other things that would be with them to play with and make them happy prior to our arrival. Get back so I can have you booked for my company as they are rounding off plans and allotting money to issues that should be settled prior to my arrival. Thank you for your time Cheers Nancy Ok she just sent me this cause I said I just wanted to make sure I had every detail right and I asked what company she worked for. All correct, I like the way you pay attention to details. I work for FGI (a mining firm in the UK) www.fgi.6te.net My company is opening an annex in MI, that is why I am coming there to start from the scratch. Am very busy dear. Please send your details.

  1. It is a common scam. You are sent a check and are supposed to send part of it to buy something. Here it is toys. You will never hear from them again. Their check will bounce in a month or two and you will lose the "toy money". ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪
  2. Definitely looks like and sounds like one of those Nigeria scams.
  3. Scam, no real family would agree to a babysitter or nanny they never met and wouldnt ever send money to somebody they never met and didnt start work. Delete this or report it to the site but do not give them your address or phone number for any reason
