Postal Letter

How can I keep my Forwarding Address Private?

I've moved to a new location, but don't want my terrible former roommate to find my new address. I've noticed that a copy of a change or address confirmation goes to the old address. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? (This question regards the US postal system.) (USPS calls these notices 'Move verification letters.) Although it is a violation of federal law, my nosy former roommate would definitely open and read it, and probably show up unannounced for an unwanted visit.)

  1. There is no way to keep your new address private. I moved and before I knew it, junk mail was coming and it was addressed to me. When you find out a way to maintain privacy, let the entire world know and charge good money, because you will surely become rich.
