How many years back does the US postal service go on background checks?
Will they regard any records that are 16 years old? I was playing with matches when I was a teenager, and I was charged with arson because the school THOUGHT I had intent to burn the school down, but I did not intend to, it was all a big misunderstanding. I was a able to get a job with UPS (United Parcel Service) and pass their background and I worked for them for 4 years, so why not the Postal service?

- The USPS is a government entity (at least, partially) and as such, you have to submit to and pass a government level background check with a security clearance. It would be in your best interests to disclose everything rather than let them find it. http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/request.do?create=kb:USPSFAQ&view%28%29=c[c_usps8327]#BackChk
- All the way back to your grade school years They can do this because of the security clearance you will need, so if there is anything on your record, it is to your best advantage to let them know before they find out on their own which would not be good for you
- they go back 10...i applied for US Postal Service and it was 10 years they went back
