  1. Do you, or did you not, damage the postal truck?
  2. So what happened really? If you hurt yourself doing something unsafe or against company policy then you can absolutely get fired, even if you're on the job.
  3. If they didn't fire you for a valid reason, you should either sue them or try to get your job back.
  4. Ah the old I'll be vague and hope to get answer I like although it has no legal chance of success question.
  5. file a grievance...are you in a union? have you got a copy of the form? i don't know if you can get your job back, but why would they falsify the discharge papers? i don't know if there are special rules for the postal service but you cannot term someone injured on the job unless there is horseplay or drug/alcohol or negligence involved. I think you are either covered under workmans comp if you actually work for a contracter or under Federal Employees compensation act. whats the real story? if what you are saying is true...contact the HR department. You can sue under workman comp or FECA but you basically recover wages, healthcare and not much else...not a get rich situation. but let me get this right....you were a good employee, hurt yourself on the job by accident, no fault of your own, and they fired you for having an auto accident you never had? sounds really fishy. best of luck. http://www.workerscompensationlawfirms.com/Facts.cfm
