Are USPS domestic shipping rates the same for all states?

I might sell something online, so I need to know the shipping price for domestic shipping from USPS. I used their postage calculator and it said the same price for every state (including Alaska and Hawaii). My dad said that this was too good to be true, but is it? I mean, regular mail is the same postage around the US, right?

1. Of course it is. The USPS is ran on a FEDERAL level, not a state level. Postage rates within the US depend on weight and class, NOT location.

3. Yes it is the same as the rest of the states. I sell alot on ebay and etsy....and I will ONLY use USPS, because the same rate applys to us also. Using any other form for shipping means a huge shipping fee. Flat rate boxes are awesome to use...cant go wrong with them.
