How does the postal system screen drugs in the mail?

Say someone tries to mail a small quantity of marijuana, how does the postal service detect it? Do they have drug sniffing dogs, or does mail go through a chemical test or what?

1. Well the fact that you are asking does sounds a little sus... Why do you want to know? Just kidding.. i too would be interested in finding out the answer. I believe overseas mail is x-rayed, but as you can guess i really dont have a clue... they prob use beagle dogs...very cute!!!
2. International mail has to pass through customs office and the postal police offices control domestic. So in instances you can find a postal police dog sniffing around a mail facility like at the custom borders and airports.
3. i dout they have a dog cuz they havn't caught me yet!!! jk i would never have anything to do w/ drugs other than arresting those that do, do drugs.
