Postal Letter

The US Postal Service needs $7.8B bailout , why would you entrust your health care to the same group of people?

The US Postal Service is now projecting it will need a $7.8 Billion dollar bail out from the federal government, on top of cutting all Saturday mail deliveries. This projected $7.8B deficit comes even after the USPS saved $6B last year by cutting 40K jobs and implementing many other cost saving methods. Also, the USPS finished fiscal year 2009 $3.8B dollars in the red. My question to all you government health care supporters: Why the hell would you trust you life to a government that can't even mail a letter with losing money? If they are so incompetent they cannot keep a semi-private, profit making (supposedly) making venture like the USPS above the water financially, why would you think they could keep you healthy? Or not raise your taxes to ridiculous rates to support their health care fiasco? Bad Elephant: You Fail!!! Go back to school Libby.. You need it... See "independent agency of federal government" From Wikipedia: The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an independent agency of the United States government responsible for providing postal service in the United States. It is one of the few government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States Constitution. Within the United States, it is commonly referred to as the "Post Office", "Postal Service", or "U.S. Mail". Hey Hondo, Maybe you could explain it to me? No? Didn't think so.. I'm going by track records here.. Maybe you Libs could show me one goverment program, agency, hell even one office that operates efficently, doesn't waste MY tax money, and can stay within it's yearly budget. I'll give you a hint, there are none!! Oh Back to you Bad Elephant (should be Dumb Donkey) All the companies you listed are now out of business as they should be. An out of business cannot waste money. The trouble with all goverment agencies is they cannot go out of business for wasting MY tax dollars, stupid politicians just throw more $$$ at them.. The ONLY efficient dept. in any government is the tax collectors...

  1. Nice try, but you should do some research BEFORE spouting stupidity ! (USPS is NOT a government agency :-) Speaking of which, just HOW efficient is American private industry? Can you say: - Enron - Worldcom - GM - Washington Mutual - Global Crossing - Lehman brothers - AIG - many, many, many others...
  2. I don't trust the post office now, much less the jackasses they would appoint to run health scare.
  3. No, I would not even trust the government to take my temperature let alone run my healthcare.
  4. The postal service has to operate with one hand tied behind its back. What do you expect.
  5. Really? You can't see the difference between the two concepts? I'm so sorry...so sorry.
  6. They'll bail them out, count on it. And then all the upper mgrs will get millions in dollars in "guaranteed" Performance bonuses, or guaranteed some motherin bonuses. Just you wait. Happens every friggin time. Then we'll all be pi$$ed off again. There needs to be a wholesale change in the way every govt spends tax dollars. We just see the crap at the surface. The "tip " of the berg. It's all going to come crashing down. So help me, I know it will. I just hope the common workers and citizens will be able to keep it together.
  7. Tanya's right, that's how it usually goes. Let's see if it still does with a democrat in, probably will. Have you seen the commercials about the Fedex boxes? We got some, they just take up space. Anyone need any?
  8. The Post Office is just another example of a supposedly independent business apparently enjoying a limitless line of government credit. In that way it's no different from all the banks, insurance companies, and auto makers who get the same. The government doesn't run them, it only gives them enough taxpayer money to prevent them from running themselves into the ground. An actual government takeover of any of these supposedly independent businesses might not be any better, but I can't see how it could really be any worse. Health care is just another such business. What's the difference whether they mess up their business as public servants, or private servants, or self servants? Taxpayers are still going to get the bill.
  9. seeing as how they have never successfully managed any system that worked as intended for the cost it was projected at i wouldn't want them to have anything to do with my health care
  10. Well if I was was a naive simpleton with no sense of history and no common sense then I would trust them.
