Postal Letter

Can a full time rural carrier be reinstated to the postal service after resigning?

Voluntary resignation. Not a postal termination.

  1. at the discretion of the USPS... if they left on good terms... yes take what is offered... probably restart as a relief
  2. You can be re-hired as an RCA and work your way up again. However, your previous employment history will be strictly scrutinized-especially safety record. If you want to go back as an RCA, I'd find a postmaster who really wants to hire you and will fight. I finally rehired a 20 year former carrier who had 2 not-at-fault accidents in those years. The major hurdle was rescinding what she had wrote on her resignation papers, "I'm tired , my back hurts and I'm sick of this job."
