Does the USPS tracking number still track across countries?

I sent a 16 lb package from New York to France. The tracking number gave me updates up to it leaving the country yesterday at 10 am. Now I havent received anymore. Will I get the notification that it was delivered or not because its not in the USPS's hands anymore?

1. No I don't believe so. I have shipped things out of the US before (baseball cards) and I believe the furthest I could get it to go was into the hands of the other Countries postal system. I think if you want international DC you need to ship with UPS.
