Package shipped before change of address?

My husband and I just moved from overseas (military move) and we had to change our address to my father-in-laws house until we knew what our new address would be. Anyways, we ordered some stuff from Amazon, and forgot to change the address to our new place. I realized we hadn't done the change of address through USPS, so I just did that. It had already shipped, but I'm wondering if the post office there will forward it? I just want to make sure they're not going to have to pay anything to have it shipped to us. Thanks!

  1. On top of the change of address you need to put in to have your mail forwarded to your new address. My husband and I literally just went through this! He's army and we just moved to a new house. We had to put in our change of address and we also had to have our mail forwarded. I know you can do this online, but I read the form inside the post office that states for military you have to do it in person. I suggest either go ahead and try to do a forwarding service from the USPS website, or you find a phone number to contact them. Good luck!
