USPS Small Flat Rate box too small for customs envelope?

I sell things on eBay quite frequently, and I do get a lot of international buyers. I'm sick of having to run to the post office and pay for the international postage out of my pocket, so I figured I could try printing out the international postage through the PayPal system. I've always done that with domestic orders, but when I go to print out international postage, it says I need a specific customs form that is huuuge. I ordered that customs form (2976-A) and the envelope that comes with it (2976-E) from the USPS website. I also ordered 10 Small Flat Rate boxes. But the problem is, the envelope is bigger than the box itself! The envelope is around 1" longer on each side and the top and bottom of it. When I go to ship something internationally, I just have the little form with the green thing on the left of it that fits conveniently on the package, but when I want to print postage with PayPal, I have to use this big form. So here are my 2 questions: 1) How do I attach the customs envelope onto the Small Flat Rate box? Am I supposed to wrap it around the package somehow? 2) Do I HAVE to use this specific form when printing out international postage via PayPal, or can I use the little customs form? I'm assuming not because when I go to print out the international postage on PayPal, it has me fill out the customs form online, which I'm assuming is the same size as the 2976-A form. Thanks! @BaronVonParty I can use the Small Flat Rate box to ship internationally. I just shipped an item internationally with that box the other day, actually. https://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10052&productId=10001641&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10000002&top_category=10000002&categoryId=10000033&top=&currentPage=0&sort=&viewAll=N&rn=CategoriesDisplay&WT.ac=10001641 The Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box is ... also can be used for international shipping.

  1. I don't think the small flatrate box can be used for International shipping anyways, I am assuming this is the one about the size of a VCR tape. If I am wrong about that, just go up to the next size box, which is about the size of an oldfashioned video tape. The form required varies by country, if you are lucky you can get by with the small green and white one, but some countries make you use that one you are talking about. Usually I find they just want the smaller customs form. There is ALWAYS one of them required. The post office site tells which one to use. On the large form, there is a clear self-stick envelope that the larger form fits in, I believe you can fold the form in half and it fits in this envelope which just gets slapped on the back of the box. That might fix your problem right there. I'd still check on if that small flatrate box can go international though.....
