Postal Letter

How long does it take for the post office to return mail?

I sent out a very important package for my boss. I addressed the package incorrectly. As a matter of fact I don't think the address I put even exists. How long does it take for the post office to return this kind of mail to the sender?

  1. it would take anywhere from 7-10 business days in sunday does not count
  2. It could take months. The post office is running on a reduced workforce, from several years ago. Returning incorrectly addressed packages are a low priority. These get done when someone has a chance to do it. Actually, quite a bit of time could be spent trying to get it delivered. You might try to contact the office where you sent it, and talk to a supervisor. He or she may be able to expeditite it.
