Newspapers, Who are The Mirror and The Daily Mail aimed at?

I need to find out which audience both of these's papers are aimed at as I have a Media Studies exam tomorrow. So far I know that The Mirror is aimed at Males and is in support of Labour, while The Daily Mail, I believe, is aimed at Woman and is in support of Consersative. What I want to know is if any of these papers are aimed specifically at a certain class, e.g. Working. Thanks. Thanks for the answers, but what are they aimed at today?

  1. I remember vaguely doing this and i think that the daily mail and mirror are both aimed at the working and middle class. whereas a paper like the telegraph is middle class and upper class because it's more posh and uses more formal language and talks about more important issues, whereas in the mirror and mail they have more adverts and they dont go so in depth about their stories and talk more about lifestyle stories and mix it in with headlines that is in the news etc.
  2. The Mirror used to be the working mans newspaper, when I first started on the crane there was always a copy in the cab,but not these days, really. The Mail was supposed to be aimed at office boys when Harmsworth started it.
