What do you know of virus protection companies downloading their own viruses that only they can get rid of, making it so that you HAVE TO buy their protection. There is proof...It happened to me.

- Conspiracy theorists have been saying that for years. But no proof. ~
- Perhaps you got stung by rogue software. What I mean by rogue software is malware. You can't remove it, it's not in Add/Remove, windows functions are disabled and your security programs won't open up, incessent popups and you can't download or install programs forcing you to pay. They are fake programs masquerading as legit programs and cyber criminals are rsponsible for that not legit antivirus vendors. http://www.microsoft.com/security/antivirus/rogue.aspx And of course what the guy said above - it's conspiracy claptrap and it's nonsense. The other day, one person asked if Norton deliberately infects when their subscription is expiring forcing them to renew - codswallop
- there is no facts to proof, just theory. as known fact, people who used to write iruses, either work/or used to work for as a cyber security consultants. Ex: Peter Szor..a guy who used to work for Symantec Norton, and now work as cyber security consultant.
