Odd Post Office Hours on Friday, Nov. 26?

I went to my local Post Office on Friday, Nov. 26 to mail packages for work, and found it closed. A friend told me the PO had some shorter hours on Fri., Nov. 26, but I could not find this information online. According to the USPS website, the PO was supposed to have normal hours on Friday, Nov. 26. Why would Post Offices have irregular hours on this date? I am in the metro Atlanta area, if that matters in terms of Postal info. Thanks!

1. I went to my PO on Friday and they had closed at noon. I think they want me to start using Mailboxes r' Us and UPS.
2. They were operating under normal hours in Ohio.
3. It was regional. Depending on where you lived in the US. Ohio post offices were most certainly closed at 12:30 PM on the 26th. The carriers were still on the route until they were done ( I was anyway), but they closed the customer counters. Didn't make sense to us, but we did what we were told. I guess they saved money by sending home clerks early that day.
