Postal Letter

if I did a change of address for usps will ups packages go to the forwarded address?

I recently ordered a package and it said it was going to be delivered via UPS Mail Innovations and I had made a temporary change of address with the USPS. I'm just wondering if the package will go to my old address or my temporary one. I learned that UPS sends the parcels to the local USPS to deliver to your address.

  1. Those are two different companies...
  2. NO - USPS is the United States Postal Service; UPS is United Parcel Service - they are not in any way connected and your change of address with the USPS will not be information that is shared with UPS...Go on line and get in touch with UPS to give them your address...
  3. UPS Mail Innovations is the program that UPS uses to hand off packages to the USPS for delivery of the "Last Mile". Unfortunately, these packages are considered to be Parcel Post or Standard Mail. Unlike First Class mail, these other classes are not eligible to be forwarded or there is a charge for the service. Standard mail will be returned as "Temporarily Away". Parcel Post is forwarded at no charge if the new address is within the service area of the former address, otherwise, it will be forwarded as Postage Due.
