How many days does an item stay in postal customs?

Hi I have a parcel coming from the US to canada and it is in customs right now (through united states postal service). Do you know how many days they usually keep the parcel in customs before delivering it? thanks.

1. As long as it takes. It may take a while (up to a couple of weeks or so), but at least you didn't have the package sent by UPS, they charge brokerage fees (+$40).
