Postal Letter

I have a check i from the United States Postal Office but i do not have a checking account?

I had an insured item get damaged and United States Postal Service sent me a check but i do not have a Bank account at the moment cause I am going to school and unemployed. The check in the lower left hand corner says "Chase Bank INC." Can i take it to Chase Bank and they will cash it for me since it is their check? Thanks in advance.

1. You should be able to cash it at Chase. You other option is to cash it at a check cashing place. They charge fees though, so go with Chase first.
