US Postal Service and Ukraine Customs?

I mailed a gift to Ukraine on December 21 and it looks like it's at customs. Do you think it's still at customs? How often is mail scanned at customs on Sunday and the day after christmas? Does this mean the padded envelope really left the United States? What does this mean? I took a few of the numbers out. I sent it registered mail even though the CD didn't cost me much! I sent another CD regular International First Class in October 2010 and she didn't get it! Please look below! The USPS customer 800 number uses a different system then the online tracking website. I called Monday 12-27 night Eastern time. The USPS customer service said it cleared US Customs and it is most likely in Ukraine Customs. The USPS customer service looked under codes for the meaning International Dispatch. The Lilburn post office said it's still in new York! Who is correct? Do you think she will still get the package? It hasn't even been 3 weeks and registered mail can take alot longer. The package was delivered on Tuesday, January 11,2011. USPS.com doesn't state that it was delivered. The lady who I sent the package to told me she got it and Ukraine's postal service tracking website said it was delivered! Is the USPS wesite not capable of showing delivery information of packages going to other countries? See below! 1. I answered a similar question earlier about mailing from US to Europe or the other way around. It is very frustrating. I also sent a very important immigration letter to my sister in Minn. from Hungary over 6 weeks ago and she hasn't recieved it yet. 2 weeks ago, we went into the post in Budapest to ask what was up. They told us, too much Xmas mail, delayed flights from weather and other BS. My friend does allot of business all over Europe and to the UK and asked some questions at the post about slow mail. She was told mail to and from the US is now going through a anti- terrorist screening. Must be done by hand or somethng since it is so slow. Not sure if that is really the problem but it sounds like something the US would do. If you have a tracking no. for your package, that may be helpful if you contact the post office or check on line with the no. From the info you posted, I believe your friend should be getting it soon, hope so.
