How do I arrange for the USPS to hold a package for me to pickup?

Is it possible for the USPS to hold a package that I can pickup at the post office? If so, how do I go about arranging this?

1. The best way to arrange for this would be to go to your PO and talk to your carrier.
2. well you could also place a hold on your all your mail at the post office they will do that for 30 days but remember that ALL your mail this is basically for people who go vacation but there is no rule saying you cant request hold mail even if you are not going on vacation
3. It is true that anyone can place a hold on their mail. However, it is a minimum of 3 days. It can be done online. You can certainly talk to your carrier or the postmaster to request that packages be held at the PO for pickup. If by chance you are thinking of this because of the rash of package thefts that have been in the news in the past month or so, one thing to consider, all of those were UPS and FedEx. Most thieves don't want to mess with the US Mail because they know it is automatically a Felony instead of a possible misdemeanor petty theft crime.
