  1. e-mail client is software you use to check your e-mail instead of using a web browser and going to your e-mail provider's site. I like it because you can download all your mail at one time, instead of needless clicks around a site and waiting for each one to load. Yahoo is a bastard and doesn't allow americans to use a client unless you have the premium, luckily i'm an att customer so i get a free premium yahoo @att.net account. It's just cleaner and nicer to have my e-mail in a dedicated program, not just some tiny box on a website. You can have multiple e-mail accounts downloaded with a single click of a button. Just feels like I have a lot more control over it, and no ads, which i block ads with adblockplus anyway, but i would consider "YAHOO" or "MSN" just as much of an advertisement. Some offer features that make searching e-mails easier as well. There are a large range of e-mail clients, but I use Evolution.
  2. An email client, email reader, or more formally mail user agent (MUA), is a computer program used to manage a user's email. The term can refer to any system capable of accessing the user's email mailbox, regardless of it being a mail user agent, a relaying server, or a human typing on a terminal. In addition, a web application that provides message management, composition, and reception functions is sometimes also considered an email client, but more commonly referred to as webmail. Popular email clients include Microsoft Outlook, Pegasus Mail, Mozilla's Thunderbird, and Apple Inc.'s Mail.
