What do the letters in USPS tracking number mean?

RCXXXXXXX79BE Is my tracking number. What does RC and BE mean? Will it update its location when it reaches the US or will it only show when it is delivered?

1. The R means that it is a Registered Mail article. and the BE is the country of origin. In this case, it is not the US. In this case, the BE would be the country code for Belgium.
