What % of govt jobs consist of teachers,police,firefighters,&postal workers?Why are those the only ones to cut?

when ppl talk about waste in govt? Seems like there are more jobs than those to choose to from, to cut? Why don't we here about those?

1. Everyone else who works for government is too important, because they are very busy watching porn on the internet all day.
2. I have a theory - It is all about scare tactics. Every time there is a budget crisis, the leadership comes and says - we have to cut firefighters and police and teachers. Then, when people are scared enough, the leaders slink back and say - well, if you don't want those cuts, well then we have to raise taxes!
3. Because they are the only ones that provide a service to the public . All others service the government .
4. There are other workers, sanitation worker, snow removal workers, public water utility workers, and all the other behind the scenes public workers. Why are these people being punished for the actions of right wing politicians who run massive deficits to enrich their ultra wealthy campaign contributors? People say that government workers are getting rich at our expense but never provide examples, its just a talking point they hope you take on faith. Public workers pay taxes, they are hard working people. How about putting the blame on those actually responsible for the budget shortfalls.
5. Well, Medicaid is riddled with fraud and they know it. They CLAIM that it would cost more to prevent it than to allow it. It is a CROCK AND BULL STORY. Also, it is very telling that Congress calls for 9% cuts across the board....except in Congress where they offered up 2%. I personally guarantee that there is not ONE government program that could not cut 20-30%...and they would be MORE efficient.

7. actually teachers, police, and fire are funded by local, and state governments. the left doesn't realize that a reduction in federal spending would have little impact on those services. as for the post office..........well between phones, and the internet i pay all my bills paperless so a reduction in postal service for me would mean less junk mail that i hate.
8. It’s a numerical fact that Obama has fewer government workers than Bush did. Its also a mathematical fact that by repealing the Bush era tax cuts to those making over 250k a year would end our budget crisis.
9. Local politicians employ them not the Federal government. They want to throw their anger in your face because you took away the funding for their Caribbean vacation to visit palm tree importers.
10. a bunch and there are a bunch who got the desk jobs not by being good but because of some government law that allowed them to get the job over more qualified people and it's been going on for decades. If you cut those it would save a ton of money. Wonder why they didn't thin of that didn't BO freeze raises for fed chair warmers? Shovel ready ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks needed that.
11. Lot`s of useless jobs to be eliminated in the Dept. of Energy , The Dept. of Education , The EPA , Amtrak , Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac ! Cut funding at all of the following ~ PBS , NPR , Planned Parenthood , ACORN , SEIU , . etc. , etc.
