Can you pick up a package yourself from the U.S. postal service facility?
Ive been tracking a package and it says its at The US postal service facility in my town, allow one or more days for delivery. Could I simply go to the post office in my town and pick it up rather than wait another day. Or is that like not allowed?

- Its already being sorted to send with the carrier. The office staff wouldn't be able to just grab it like they do for normal pickups.
- I think it's possible but you might have to call them first to let them know you're picking it up.
- The post office is not in the business of handing mail and packages over the counter that were intended for street delivery. These items are sorted and processed to delivery unit and then to carriers. The only way to pick up mail at the PO Delivery Unit is to have a PO BOX or to have your mail put on hold (ex: vacation hold) Where you would then pick up before a resume date of delivery.
