How fast is USPS Express when it delivers in state?

I need to mail a package from the San Francisco Bay Area down to Costa Mesa, CA. Say I send it to be delivered on Monday. Using their Express mail service, which is supposedly supposed to deliver a package in 1-2 days, how fast will it be delivered to the destination? In other words, has anyone used USPS Express in-state and gotten actual 1-2 day delivery results?

Public Comments

  1. two days for before 3pm two to three days, depends on destination
  2. you can check status online by track number, usually it takes 2 day in-state
  3. First thing, please allow me to mention something. The USPS does not necessarily recognize State, County, City or other municipal borders in Mail processing. Generally, for the type of distance you are talking about, it would likely be overnight by Noon the next day. You can use this USPS application to see exactly what the guaranteed service standard is for Express Mail http://webapps.usps.com/expressmailcommitments/landing.jsp With Express Mail, it would be guaranteed and I would send it tomorrow or Saturday and it would be delivered on Monday by 3PM. If there is no delivery or an attempt at delivery, you can apply for a refund of the postage paid. Unless you pay an additional fee, Express Mail is no longer automatically delivered on Sunday and Holidays.
