Are there postal codes in Ireland?

I am sending a gift to Ireland and was given an address for.... Malahide co. Dublin, Ireland Is that it, or is there a postal code?

5. That's it, Malahide is about an hour from Dublin, any districts that are within Dublin would have Dublin 7, or 2 and so on.

Yes, you have to look them up for the specific address because they are more detailed than in the USA, like our ZIP+4. But it should get there without them. 5.
