What will the post office do if address doesn't exist?
So i gave someone my address to send me something in the mail and i gave them one wrong word in the address and i looked up the address i gave her and it doesn't exist but i gave her my postal code and everything so what happens to that letter? would they send it to the other one or send it back? Ive tried calling but i get put on hold for like an hour!

- They send it back.
- They will send it back to the person who sent the letter.
- It will be returned to the sender.
- You may go to the local post office and explain. If you gave them your postal code, then it should be received by your post office. They may be able to keep an eye out for the particular wrong word. Usually, they just stamp return to sender on the package.
- It depends on what the mistake was that you made. If they post office in the US can still find you, they will deliver it to you. For example if entered drive instead of street. If you live in a small town, it's possible to get mail addressed simply to your name without a street address, but in a larger town it might be impossible to find Jane Smith on Maple St. If they can't find you, they will attempt to return the letter to the sender -- if the sender wrote down a return address. If there is no return address, the letter will go to the dead letter office.
