how are USPS small flat rate boxes received?

well i am thinking of ordering a yo yo and some accessories from yoyonation.com or yoyoexpert.com and i am assuming it will be arriving in a USPS small flat rate box since it is just a yoyofactory yoyo, 10 yoyo strings (or 25 strings if i decide to order from yoyoexpert) and yoyojam thin lube. how are USPS small flat rate boxes received? will the box be in my mail box or will a mailman ring my doorbell? i am asking this question because this will be my first time ordering something online from USA. I will be going on a trip soon and i would like to receive my order after i come back. If a mailman delivers my order then i will have to order my yoyo after i come back since the postal office will send back my package if i don't collect it within 2 days. If it will be in my mailbox, then i can order it now, i would be able to get my package when i come back.

1. I've never heard of them sending it back after 2 days. If it fits in your mailbox, that's where they'll put it. Put I've had packages waiting for me at the office for like a week before.
2. Just have your mail held until you get back. The flat rate boxes are delivered with your mail, and how ever you receive you mail the boxes will be there along with the other pieces. You can fill the paper work out and they will deliver the day you return. Safer and very handy. this is what I do. good luck
3. Yes, they come just like regular mail. The small boxes fit very nicely inside a standard mailbox. I've ordered numerous yo-yos online. Normally I order late Saturday or sometime on Sunday. Orders coming priority mail normally arrive Thursday, sometimes Friday if the business has had a lot of online orders over the weekend. I've never ordered from yoyoexpert.com, but I have ordered from yoyonation.com and they have excellent customer service. Another great company is yoyoguy.com (I order most of my stuff from them. Great prices on string if buying in bulk.)
